Hi fellow Tycons,

Does anyone know where I can find train shows around L.A. Calif. All the ones I find are mid west or back east. I went to a few before in my Lionel days, but they were found on accident and I can't remember their names. When you go do they laugh when you ask for Tyco? Thanks.

Naturally, my first suggestion is to review the listings in Railroad Model Craftsman and/or Model Railroader each month. They generally get listings for most major shows and swap meets.

Next, I'd suggest attending about any show you do find out about. The reason is to pick up flyers for other shows. Seems like if you go to one train show/swap meet you'll then find others. There is always a table near the entrance at most shows that contains flyers for up coming other shows. I know the regular shows in my area, Kansas City, always have flyers out for other shows...even outside the area. I see flyers for shows in Denver, Omaha, St. Louis, etc.

You can also find out where the local NMRA chapters in your area are. Most will put on a show or two per year. In fact, where I live, the NMRA MCR Div 8 and 10 shows are about the only ones I can count on, outside of GATS (yecch) in Cincinnati and Louisville.

Most shows are in the Oct-thru-early-Dec, and March timeframes.
