Thanks for finding those!!
I have searched YouTube.com in the past with no luck.
Wished somebody would unearth TYCO's Durango and Silver Streak TV commercials.
Does anyone remember any other TYCO train commercials?

I think my favorite part is in the one commercial where the announcers says, "Turn off the lights, and you're in Nite-Glow!" Hmmm...you're IN nite-glow...like Nite-Glow is another state of being!
CAN'T TAKE THE TRASH OUT NOW MOM!!!...I'm IN Nite-Glow!
That's TYCO...Of Course!

Vanderbilt University's Media Library has SEVERAL Tyco Train commercials, the earliest being 1977:
No. Date Headline Video Broadcast Type Network Begin Length 1. 11/08/1980 (Commercial: Tyco Trains; Pepto-Bismol.) Evening News CBS 06:38:10 pm 01:10
2 11/24/1977 (Commercial: First Alert Smoke Detector; Fleischmann's Margarine; Upcoming Item; Tyco Electric Trains; Baker's Coconut.) Evening News NBC 05:44:30 pm 02:10
There are more, but you will have to register (for free) and if you are not a member, it will be EXPENSIVE. My suggestion is to find someone affiliated with a library or university.
King Coal, Silver Streak, Chattanooga Choo Choo, and a few others are all listed here...along with all of the other commericals aired between newscasts. A FLASHBACK MACHINE!!!
Why not get a donation from the list to buy a tape of these gems, and find a place to park 'em on the web for everyone to enjoy?
Enjoy. ToR

Uh, anyone wanna guess just how many takes it took the poor souls who made the commercial to get the Turbo Train...first to simply operate...then to do the loop...and finally to successully make that jump. Naturally, today they'd just do computer special effects to make the Turbo Train appear to do all that TYCO claimed. [:D]

Great timing for this post. I just opened up my "first" turbo train 30 minutes ago. It's the chrome one and it's very shiny. I put first in quotes because it's the only one I have now as an adult.
When I was growing up both of my parents worked and during the summers I would go down to Alabama and stay with my grandmother. She was very poor so my Mother sent her extra money for food and expenses. There was also money for toys, there may have been some guilt there but that's another issue.
I convinced my younger brother that we should combine our money and get the Turbo Train set. We abused the heck out of that thing seeing how far we could make it jump across the ramps. We also would run the track partially up the wall and end it there. The trick was to try and hit the ceiling.
I have 3 kids now and I'm being payed back in full. Time for me to go check out those vids.

I remembered one more that was not covered which was the TYCOSCENE commercial which showed all the diffrent operating accesories. As Robert ( theoldreliable) stated about taking up a donation to get the other tyco clips, I`d be all for it. Where do we send the money ? LOL
