I bought a 914 operating log loader at a show and noticed today on the 'bay that there is a 914-1 operating log loader in a thinner shorter box. Was one for the sets and the other for separate sale?

I didn't know the Pine Hill came in that many sets (I have the separate accessory in the cube-ish box). Many sets did, however, have the log DUMP accessory in a flatter box. That Pine Hill is a pretty tall item, taller than most set boxes. I'd like to hear, though, if there was a differently-boxed version.

I`d say this is the box that came from the Big Logger set. There doesnt look like there`s any room in there for the boxed freight car.

When I picked up my Log Loader the boxed mint Pine Hill gon was in the
914 accessory box. I thought that was strange and a very big box, cube-ish as Adams describes. I'd say Iluvbudwsr is right-on about the Big Logger set. Interesting! [^]

I'll post a picture of mine later today.

btw: The Pine Hill gon box is numbered B914-2, Gondola W/logs, Pine Hill. Along with the paper work I found pine needles that must have been added by the original owner.

AF, Here's mine--still new on hobbyshop shelf in 1995. Number on gon box is B-914-2. Mine is mint also, still has most shrik wrap on box. Only problem with originality is that at one point I thought I was going to use it on my layout, and neatly cut off the flat portion that goes under the track.

That's it! Mine is opened up like a pizza box though and with the dozer on the base and the car and box inside it doesn't close properly. My box also has tears that your's doesn't, but it's in good condition. Mine is missing the 9" section of track.
