This item was in a set I recently picked up

Does anyone have a picture of the piece of track that belongs in this box ?

This is not the right piece because there is nowhere to put the wires on the track.

Thanks for any help
Bob

If I remember correctly, this is one of those things that sounds better than it is. Basically, Tyco's idea of automatic uncoupling was to back the train onto the ramp, change directions, and uncouple. I think the electronic controller was wired into the track power, and momentarily changed direction of loco while over ramp. Not very realistic, and same thing can be accomplished using the manual ramp and the direction switch on your power pack. Someone can correct me if I'm mistaken, but that's how I remember it--I was excited at first, then let down to find out how it worked!

Thanks again Adams you are correct.

I would have known this too if I had just read the text in the enclosed
instruction sheet instead of just looking at the diagram and assuming I
had the wrong piece of track.

I too would find its operation dissapointing ...when I think of remote uncoupling I think of something more mechanical or at least magnetic.

C'mon! It's a PRESTO-MATIC!!!

J/Z

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.

Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

It slices, it dices; it makes julienne fries!!! [:O]

It's sort of like that Mantua smoke-in-tender unit I posted about a while back that claimed that it was synchronized with the loco. I guess they weren't beyond a little Ronco-style salesmanship.

I just found this in HOSeeker's 1962 Tyco catalog. And to think we've been wasting time and money installing Kadee couplers all of these years.
