Hi All,
I guess I will get the ball rolling this week. This is an Athearn Hustler that the Great One picked up for me on Friday. Best of all she got it for FREE! I love that word. I cleaned it up and put new rubber bands on it, now it screams around the track
Thanks for looking. Mike

This is an unusual Hustler I got in a box lot. The upper part of the shell is an Athearn Hustler and the bottom part of the shell was built by the previous owner. I scratch built the side frames and mounted a Mantua MU-2 power truck in it. I also built a circuit to flash the LED beacon on the roof.

I got the drive for this recently with a beat up shell, so I swapped it with a near mint one I had. I'll keep this one stock.

Hello,
and now something completely different....
This is a Alco DL500 CC, one of Alco´s export locomotives. Even if it does not look like. it´s a double ender (made it look kinda funny when it ran backwards...). This is the Spanish Ry. RENFE version from Lima.

Cheerio,
Martin

Jeremy:
Cheez has parts for that Traing Dock Diesel. He sent me the shell.
Ray, Wow, does that look different. Hustlers are the best little Kitbash Projects!
Martin: There's a version in Australia of that Alco as well, and it also has the hostlers cab on the back!

British invasion! Touring my layout is my new Dutchess (Coronation) Class 4-6-2. It began as an LMS streamlined loco in the 1930's...was later de-streamlined, and painted British Railways blue. Behind it, you can see a Class 25 BR diesel. All thanks to Ken!

Jeremy,
I have a spare Triang power truck in my parts collection. All it's missing are the brushes, but it's likely that's what you need as well.

This is a Fleichmann loco. What is the prototype? It has a sort of pancake motor and the pinion gear slips.

Hey AF:
I have one of those, runs excellent!

There is an even shorter in length one!
Bavarian prototype I think. Perhaps Ken knows since it's his side of the pond!

Hello,
the O&K MV9 is a German made industrial Diesel switcher from the 1950´s, Fleischmann brought out this model something round 1959. It has a little oversized hoods, see Link below
http://www.rangierdiesel.de/images/ok_26103_50.jpg
Versions without buffers but with US-couplings are much sought after in Germany. The green one is slightly rarer than the red one. In the 80´s Fleischmann replaced these models with a more scale like version, which is shorter.

The Lima model is actually of the Australian version - New South Wales 44 class to be exact. I'm pretty sure it was the first Australian model made by Lima (along with the Indian Pacific cars which later appeared in Amtrak and Via Rail versions). The 44 class was also available as the South Australian 930 class - which wasn't as accurate. The RENFE one isn't totally accurate either, but looks the part.
Interestingly enough, the N scale model of the RENFE Alco (by Ibertren) was made in NSW colours for sale in Australia. [:D]

I know Gareth likes small switchers, So here is a pair of Lionel HO Husky Switchers. Lionel made a knock off of the Athearn Hustler. Here is the AEC And US Air Force. US Navy Made By Athearn for Lionel Only.
I also have some switchers I think Martin67 would like.

That's quite a collection, VintageHO. I've long wondered what those funny little Rivarossi switchers were. They always looked like a baby's shoe to me. [:)]
I watched an auction for one a few months back that went for big bucks, even tho it had some missing parts.

Alco Fan,
not really! MAK (the Canadian Switcher) is a Company in the northern German town of Kiel, specialized in building Diesel engines, while Krauss-Maffei is based in southern Germany, actually in my hometown Munich. Krauss Maffei has been building locomotives (Steam, Diesel and Electric) for over 100 years. They are still in business, now belonging to Siemens.
Martin
P.S. I love that Rivarossi "Renault 4" switcher, it´s a real raritiy!

Mr. Fanged one... Now, the chances of having an A-B-B-A consist will look great. BUT (don't you just dislike them goat butts?) make sure you don't go and blow a fuse getting all three (and one dummy) units running with a beautiful set of cars behind them.
The end of this month will be good for me 'cus I will be able to clean up my debts (and you know who you are) ... (finally)

HI, here are some pics of a hustler I did a few months ago. It is a Cox geared hustler chassis, the bottom of an athearn shell and I painted, detailed, and lettered a Cary diecast boiler and placed it on top of the whole thing and added Kadee couplers. I hope the pics show and not just a link to them, I think I followed the directions correctly. Tom
