Bachmann SD 40

My kid pestered the heck out of me for this one...I hate anything that has to do with NS....I was a car inspector for them back in 1999...it was the worst 6 months of my life.

Hey Romcat,
See? I told you those were some sweet running locos! No need to replace the mechanism. Glad the average ebay price has come WAYYYYY down! Nice loco for $25-30 each!
So when do I get to test out my UP Alco?

Hey Adams, Do you notice the slightly different blue & red stripe application on your two cabooses?
Congrats on all entries! Also, I am a fan of Atlas Roco Loco's!

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

Zebrails, Yes, the red and blue are reversed, not sure which one, if any is more rare. I also have the 4 old-time Bicentennial coaches that go with the loco which makes a neat train.

Well actually they the Politically Correct now call it "Canada Day" but for the first 100+ Years it was called "Dominion day" Since in our constitution it refers to "... the Dominion of Canada."
And it was July 1st.

The Presidential Seal, what a neat piece of Model Train and Tyco history. I hope I land one some day. Good choice Brian and appropriate.!
BTW: Thanks Romcat for the history lesson in the LotW post about Canada Day being July 1st. I was curious. As I kid My family went to Ontario Provence on vacations for about 7 years. We traveled over the 4th of July because it saved my Dad a vacation day since everyone got the 4th off anyhow. I knew there was a corresponding celebration but could not remember the correct title. I hope the celebration was swell! Our Canadian brothers and sisters are great also!
