I'm Jose Redondo, 28 years old, i'm from Costa Rica, Central America, and I received my first train when I had 10 years, a Tyco Rock Island set.
Since that moment, my love for these trains was started.
On my country, Tyco faded from the stores since the 90's, this made it more difficult buy more material... now with ebay it's so easy... and my little collection has grown.
Congratulations for this site... I hope to learn more about this hobbie.

| Welcome aboard Redondo!. I too think it is great that people from other countries are joining this great site. It is great to learn about model railroading and Tyco from the country of new members. My first train set from Tyco also was the Rock Island shark nose with bridge and trestle.

Jose!
I don't think I've ever talked to a model railroader from Costa Rica. Is there much interest in trains down there? Are there any hobby shops, or is it all online shopping?
