Hello All--Wanted to show CFK what I picked up today--thought I'd share with all here: From top to bottom
1) Mk.1 Sleeper (possibly mislabeled 'Inter-City', not sure)
2) Mk.1 Buffet
3) Flying Scot coach
4) Flying Scot sleeper
5) Not sure, but I think these were called Pullman Parlours, don't know what the 'Golden Arrow' was.
All these were made in Britain--no China here--paid about 10% of new catalog prices!

Nice find there Adams,
I've been picking up a few British items lately, and the bug bit me about a year ago when I bought a bunch of Hornby Dublo stuff.
Right now I don't have any Dublo engines,so I pull them with the Marklin locos I have.
I've got the Brit bug allright.

top 2 coaches are mk1 intercity coaches which was brought in as an express servive limited stops to various cities in uk,ie london to penzance coaches have numbers staring with the region ie e for eastern w for western etc
the next 2 are gresley lner teak (wooden)coaches dating from 20s
the last is the golden arrow which was a service run by the southern region from a special platform at victoria station, complete with its own customs section to paris in france the pullman parlour was fitted with very plush seating, for use before dinning or after, hope this helps feel free to ask more, the golden arrow was usual pulled by a merchant navy loco designed by bullied, ken

Thanks, Ken for the info. As far as putting together trains, I now have these 2 new Mk.1 cars plus the Lima Blue/Gray Mk.1, the Lima Maroon Mk.1 (fake LMS),and Parcels/Express. I'm assuming they could have been hauled by steam. My other train has the 2 LMS coaches pulled by the Dorchester Castle in BR green. My Golden Arrow is a "man without a country" right now, but it would make a nice parlour on my LMS train or my Flying Scot, although not prototype. That brings me to the Flying Scot--as soon as the loco arrives, I'll have at least 2 cars to pull behind it.......In general, I love how these cars all have interiors, down to the cups and plates on the tables! I would love to install dependable lighting systems in these cars, as they would look incredible at night.

as the flying scotsman is a working preserved train running day trips etc it can be seen hauling almost anything, but for the period only the lners are the only ones if you want to be prototypical ken

Ken,
I have a mix of 2 rail, and three rail freight cars.
I don't have any three rail track, just the marklin stud rail track.
I will start looking for Dublo 3 rail track soon, as it will go well with my 3 rail Lionel stuff.
