hi i received this motor today,the mount have screws in them is official or a hobbyists mod ken

contact strips needed as they were covered in solder,badly done,for hard wiring

Why don't you just heat the motor clips with a soldering iron and wipe the solder off? Unless they're bent or cut or modified, they will still work.

believe me,they were bad,have got some coming from athearn,its the screws in mounting blocks i was interested in ken

I've seen those screw mounts on eBay, and I've wondered if they worked any better than the old style. there's certainly no risk that the motor will pop loose.

Hey guys,

Yes, those are unaltered Athearn motor mounts. Athearn has decided to improve on their old mounts. They work very well. I am somewhat surprised at how cheap they are on ebay. My hobby shop can not even get them as Horizon is always "out of stock" for them.
