hi guys my first attempt at these kits,what is the best way to secure the weight to chassis,glue or melt the plastic over weight,ken

The best thing I have used for those, by far, is Walthers Goo. Although if you have other contact cement, or a hot glue gun handy, those might be worth a shot. In fact I have used hot glue to cement pennies as wieght in the bottom of Intermountain hoppers, so I see no reason why hot glue wouldn't work here.

White glue, plastic cement, and super glue most definitely will NOT work. Learned that the hard way when I was a kid...
