Hey guys:
I was thinking it would be fun to post or respective "Hit lists" of locomotives we're looking for, just to compare notes and who notes maybe generate some leads or trades. I had specific's in mind as opposed to and UP or Erie or whatever. Those are fine to, but I'd like to hear what people are looking for beyond a Canadiana Shark for example
I'm heading for bed but I'll post mine on Sunday...
Night, Gareth

lolol. No Gareth, I already got one of those[^]
Wow...after standing by my layout for 5 minutes thinking, I finally figured out that I don't have a hit list[B)] I haven't seen anything recently that I wanted. The way I work is I look for streamliners...then once I have the streamliners I look for the matching engines. I've found matching engines for almost all my streamliners. I guess the only engines I'm really after right now would be:
Tyco CN F-7....I have 4 of these and none of them are "runnable".
Tyco Burlington F-7...I have 1 of these, but its damaged and missing parts.

I'm not hard to please, A Illinois Central Gulf Alco 630 is on my list I've seen a few around but the asking prices were too high. I'm looking for ones with PT motors in both paint schemes. Also up there on my list is a Golden Eagle C630,I've allways liked the looks of this engine and caboose, and wanted one since I was a kid. Haven't found one in perfect shape in my price range.(10-20 bucks) Keep in mind I'm not actively looking for this stuff at this moment but if I come across one I might pick one up.
Cheers, Carl T.

Hey Gareth. If I could find a way to mount the weight, I could get 3 of them running[:D] I've been working on other stuff and haven't really gotten around to figuring out how to fix it. I will though...one of these days... Actually, the CN F-7 I'm looking for now is an MU-2 powered one, to go with my streamliners[:p]

| Choochin, I have the 630 in ICG. The problem is that when I got it (and it's new-in-box, with handrails still in bag), I pried open the front of the shell to get at the motor to lube it, and it caused a small crack in the left side of the cab, below the window--hardly noticeable--unless you know it's there! Otherwise, a perfectly-new example. So you can see my quandry--I don't want to just "give" it away, since it's such a beautiful model, but I would understand that a purist collector wouldn't want to live with the crack, either. If someone wanted it badly enough, I could sell it, othewise I'll be content to put her out on the layout and let her run---Chris.

Hey Romcat,
What did you have in mind as far as the Alco FA and FB go? Model Power has some on clearence for a couple bucks each! But they are dummies and in unmatched paint schemes. You can also pick up Shark A and B units as well. These are the old Roco made locos. Shipping will be high for you though!

Hi All,
I would like to find the green Northern Pacific shark nose (No.222-72) for the Great One. Green is her favorite color and she really likes the paint scheme on that unit. Finding this unit at an affordable price will be a challenge.

| Believe it or not, mine is the Tyco Silver Streak C-430's, both of them. For those that don't know, the variant is the roof color. Some were all chrome while others had a red roof. I have not had good luck finding either of the two shells in great condition.

holy... where was I during this topic posting?
My hit-list would include the # 382 4-6-0 AHM/Model Power? Casey Jones locomotive.
And most any demonstrator diesels ever built/produced for HO Scale. But, they can be no circa newer than the SD40-2's. On some of them, there's the distinct paint job with the beautifully contrasting colours/colors.
Why, I'd even want the Demonstrator Steam locomotives. i.e. Baldwin Locomotive Works, etc.
Anyway, better late than never, eh?
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

A new powerpack and a few Erie Lackawanna streamliners for me.
Of course, this is always changing as I buy or make new things for my layout.
Even though I don't have any need for one at all, I would like to have a rather large steam locomotive. Maybe a 2-10-4, or if there's an articulated steamer out there that can handle 18" radius curves...

Just did. I think this would sum it up nicely:
Freakin' amazing, and freakin' expensive.
I'd have to collect many a plastic bottle to pay for that puppy. Which reminds me, try refunding your recyclables somtime...you'd be surprised at how much they're really worth.

Know what, watch Ebay, I've seen amazing deals recently on recent high end plastic!
Start a spreadsheet and begin to track prices on your favourite Loco's.
