Here's a neat and easy to set up new accessory from Walthers...

This weekend, I got to see the new Working Traffic Lights and think they are well done. Walthers is offering four different styles of lights. There are single- and double-sided lights on a pole; additionally there is a single-sided and four-way hanging light that is mounted on a big L-shape shaped pole. They have three LEDs to produce the Red, Yellow, Green of a typical traffic light. The simple single-sided light on pole is only $10.98, which to me seems like a rather modest price.

The lights are controlled by Walthers Traffic Light Controller which is a black box about the size of a deck of cards. On each side are green wiring mounts that are labeled and accept the colored wires from the traffic lights. Each box has two inputs and can run the cycling of the traffic lights in two different patterns. The control box retails for $34.98.

The complete group currently consists of:

933-2300 Cornerstone Series Accessories - Working Traffic Lights -- Single Side HO 10.98
933-2301 Cornerstone Series Accessories - Working Traffic Lights -- Double-Sided HO 14.98
933-2302 Cornerstone Series Accessories - Working Traffic Lights -- Hanging Single-Sided HO 9.98
933-2305 Cornerstone Series Accessories - Working Traffic Lights -- Hanging 4-Way HO 24.98
933-2306 Cornerstone Series Accessories - Working Traffic Lights -- Working Traffic Light Controller HO 34.98

A nice improvement on TYCO's old overhead blinking traffic light, huh?

Later this year, Walthers will add two different working crossing flashers and a control box for that system.
