My guess is Varney or Penn Line, or maybe Revell. I think it has a shaft running forward thru the fuel tank to the front truck, otherwise they wouldn't have put so much weight over it.

| That makes sense as there is no visible shaft from the motor. I had guessed it had gearing down, but had not thought of a shaft running forward. I just assumed it had a single power truck. Thanks!

That's known as a tank drive, and it was very common back when the magnets in Pittman-style motors didn't allow a shaft at both ends. Hobbytown used that arrangement until they closed last year.
