In the back shops on my layout, we have the Designers at TYCO hard at work lettering the newest GG-1 in the fleet. Judging by the one on the siding, I think they used the wrong font size and type, What's right fellow Tycophiles? enjoy -Bob

I'm new to the forum, so I just realized how old some of these posts are. It turns out I bought some of these pieces. In the case of this GG1 shell, the lettering seems close to the same size and spacing as the regular production silver GG1. This shell is now finished with pantographs, trucks, and windows/number boards. I've got a pic of this one and a silver side by side, but I'll have to look into how to post it.

I thought I'd post a pic of this shell (now with trucks, etc added) as compared to a production silver G. The lettering seems to match up, and even the rectangle openings for the trucks and weights come in the same spots where the lettering should be. I dont know how the lettering is applied, but I don't see any decal film.

I also found my Amtrak GG1 lacks the Amtrak name and number on the sides. Has anyone else heard of this? I need to buy another so I can compare.
