Hi Guys:
Wanted to test fit an idea on Y'all.
I'm beginning to aquire some old copies of MR from the "70's" which is particularly germain to this forum and I began to think it might be a good idea to amass a list of back issue, so if someone is looking for something in an old issue they could look at the list and contact that person for help. I don't even know if it's possible to have a common file that members can edit but I'm sure we can figure something out.
Now obviously that doesn't mean turning some of our more charitable members into you're personal library but one forum member has sent me significant scans from two MR features, which were remendously helpful. Actually it may have been 2-3 in fact.
Anyway just an idea. LIke to hear some thoughts...

| I don't really have the ability to scan articles, but I have 3 paper boxes full of Model Railroader, Model Trains, Trains, and some others, going from the 50's to current, if someone needs something specific. I don't need them anymore--was waiting to sell them at a trainshow--but haven't done that yet.

I have many years of Railroad Model Craftsman and Model Railroader dating from 1960 through the present. Not complete, but again I do have many issues/years in my collection. As I have done in the past, I am more than happy to scan articles/ads for anyone upon request.

Know what guys, sometimes the simple answer is the best. I think the scan idea is great Tony. Certainly it's been done for me.
So I guess someone can just post a request if needed.
Works for me!

| Two train shops in my area will give away oudated mags. I had one of my first trips to one of the two today and walked out with 4 mags , one from November 1949. Terry

Hi Guys:
The stuff I'll be grabbing will be from mostly the 50's 60's and 70's. Both MR and RMC.

I have MR for the years of 1961 and 1967.
By the way the full page advertisement inside the front cover of each issue is for Mantua/Tyco.

| If you are looking for something specific, you can do a search of assorted mags at MR's site. They have a searchable data base that will match key words, etc. and tell you what mag, month, year you will need. It might be best to do said search and then ask members for a scan from the specific mag. Just makes finding the requested info easier for the generous mag holders.

| Actually, the MR data base includes RMC and several other mags, including ones that are out of print. But you must sign up to be a site member to use the search. It doesn't cost anything!
