Hi All,
I was given a Mantua caboose that has been painted over with silver model paint. I would like to remove the paint and show the original road name. Do any of you have any good cheap ideas as to how to do this?
Thanks Mike

I have a Krause Maffie DRG engine that had been painted over with black paint. I used Diosol to remove the black paint down to the original paint. It's been more than 10 years and I can't remember what Diosol is originally used for. It still looks a little weathered, I stopped while I was pleased with the results. It can soften the paint and lettering so be careful. Maybe test method this on something else that's not important to see how it will react. Another time I had a Tyco GT Alco with weathering that I thought was oil based and nothing seemed to work plus I couldn't find the Diosol. I used Westley's White Wall cleaner with cotton swabs. It removed the light weathering down to the original glossy paint. I might try Westley's on the KM to clean up. Good luck and always keep saftey first!
