I have a very nice blue/yellow Tyco/Mantua GP-20. This loco has no railings. Have railing set from spare shell. Curious to know if anyone can tell me the color scheme for railngs and stanchions for this unit. Would like to do it the way it came. Thanks.

Our resident Santa Fe expert, Tony Cook, can answer for certain....

... but I think at the very least, the SF painted their freight handrails blue, with possibly white or yellow on the end grabs, etc.

Check out rrpicturearchives.net; you can browse by RR and they're bound to have pictures of SF GP20's.

FWIW, Tyco never painted their handrails and the metal ones were not preinstalled so yours probably "came" just the way you have it, lol.

I'm assuming you have the pre-1972 Santa Fe Freight scheme model...

if you have a blue and yellow ATSF warbonnet from TYCO....
...we need to talk!

Anyway, for the typical TYCO Santa Fe GP20 in this as-delivered scheme the handrails should look like this...

Thanks GIC and Tony. I appreciate the help. And Tony as much as I would like to talk to you I am sorry to report that I have the standard issue blue/yellow paint scheme. The war bonnet paint scheme is awesome.
