Just wondering, these are blue box era cars. I won a set on ebay, consisting of loco f7, tank car, flat car, two box cars, and caboose. Later found crane and crane tender flat and much later found two box cars made by Athearn lettered for east wood short line just wondering if there are any more different cars out there and what the history on them may be. I know the basic set is listed quite often, I have been an ebay-er for several years, but I have not seen the crane and the crane tender listed often and have not come across the Athearn cars. As I've said, I was just wondering but must state that I do like the blue and gold paint on them.

Hi Bill:
First welcome aboard, I hope you enjoy you're time here, teriffic people. By "Blue Box" you mean Athearn I trust right?
When is the BB era considered to begin and end?

| exact dates I am unsure of, but I'm thinking that they were close to the end of production as they are relatively new, plastic liners, bright blue boxes, Mantua printed on lower left. only two boxcars are Athearn the rest are Mantua. the f units have Styrofoam liners.Grandview ave, Woodbury Heights addresse and made in China in small letters at the bottom. no paperwork with either f7.it took me over a year to put together this set and I bought a coupla extra Mantua boxcars to put the Athearn cars in to keep consistency in the set. I can do the photo thing [with the help of my computer savvy daughter] if it would help. and yes the site has been very helpful and informative. I have been looking for a sight like this for sometime and came across it accidentally- I was doing a wikipedia search, crossreferencing with an old issue of model railroader when out of curiosity I started checking some of the links at the bottom and found this site. Thanks again, Bill
