This is totally kitbashed and It must have went with the gold bullion themed Pinkerton train. You will see why later.....

Now THAT is an interesting concept...
I would love to know when these were made. I think the Clementine set was new for 1979... but I note the sample boxes are all white-flaps which were earlier (75-77).
But even more important, is that as car as mocked-up would have required 100% all-new tooling. The last all-new cars tooled by Tyco were done in 1973 (the 62' cars). They released a 40' high-cube in 1978 but it was rather similar to other tooling from other vendors. They also had another Bunk car left over from the redbox era, which looked nothing like this.
Further evidenced by authentic BN loco and CP freight cars you've brought to light... Perhaps the R&D / Train guys in the back room at Tyco were more serious than we give them credit for?

Yea , we really should take our hats off to them .As I look at all these prototypes listed you just have to think back to the 70`s when all this stuff was being developed ( in the back room with a joint burning in the background as evident with the TIDE car offering LOL ). The resourses available then were NOTHING like compared to todays offerings as far as decals, kitbashing parts , even the glues sucked back then.
