Heh heh... sniping is the only way to go. Bidding is a waste of time and money. [B)]
(I wish that weren't the case but after you lose a few... yeah. Why run the price up higher just to get sniped in the end? The only time an early bid is worthwhile is a hope against hope when you know you won't be there at the end, and/or have a firm maximum bid.
But firm maximums don't work if you bid them early, because you get these jokers that bid 20 times in a row just to crack it. So if you had waited, they'd never have had the chance and you could have gotten the item for MUCH less than your max.)
So.... depending on where it goes....? [;)] But I'd personally be willing to break the set as there's only a couple I want. If it sold high I was already planning to resell the others.

The sheer quantity of NOS brown box Tyco on net auction sites never fails to amaze. It is instructive, however, as to the VAST production numbers of this CT/Tyco material. While I will agree this is a really nice useable lot of Tyco for the operator I'm inclined to wonder where all the 18 car lots of NOS Blue Box Tyco are? Production numbers of the pre-1960 stuff are only the slightest fraction of Consolidated Foods Tyco offerings. First generation Red Box production was significantly greater but still small relative to the Consolidated Foods output. Just something to contemplate when choosing between a half-dozen CF/Tyco Billboard reefers or that lone MIB Blue Box Crazy Crystals reefer... Magnolia Academy
