Hi guys
I dont know how to upload a photo to this sight so I'll describe it
the best I can...I got a set of loco trucks from e-bay...came with a new
Athearn F7 body...but the power is not Athearn....looks like Tyco, but there are no markings on them...front truck has brass wheels...the rear truck has plastic wheels with rubber tires...all the wires are still attached..except for one yellow wire, which comes off the headlight...fuel tank cover also....it says "made in Hong Kong"....motor runs horizontal in the rear truck...gears are on the front of the motor down to the truck...non of the tabs are broken off...they turn fine...can you help me on this one...Blomberg sideframes....possibly off old F unit...runs good fwd and rev

Many Thanx

The mechanism sounds like a Life-Like unit.

Does your engine have a full, one-piece frame? Or is each truck self-contained?

I came across an F-unit by Playart a while back. I had a nice can motor sort of encased within the rear truck, but it was gear-driven at the front. The frame was one piece. It ran very well for being so simple - a LOT better than those front-gear LL trucks did.

Well, I've re-read your first post a bit more carefully. The motor/truck design sounds like my old Revell SW-1. The motor sat on top of the truck and had a large gear on the motor shaft. That gear engaged a small gear that was mounted on a shaft that then turned the wheelsets.

Can you send me a photo? My email is micnic5@aol.com .
