Hello All, It's great to have found this site. I thought I'd share what I'm doing with my Tycos. Forgive me if today's tips have been posted before. This site is too large to verify that! With my PT Shark, to gain better electrical contact and traction, I merely added a middle axle to each truck, which dropped right in. True, I now have unrealistic 3 axle trucks, but it's hardly noticeable on the layout. I'm guessing this could be done with any 2 axle PT truck. Also, with my Tyco Mikado, I was having operating problems. After breaking it all down, cleaning and oiling everything, the problem of sluggish operation remained. When I pressed down on the tender, however, the engine picked up speed. Then I realized that the later Tycos had plastic tenders, while my older ones have metal, and are much heavier. So I opened up the tender and cemented in an old diesel weight. Problem is solved! Chris
