Hi Guys:
Since this yard is only about 5 miles from my place and being a died-in-the-wool Alco guy, I thought I would post this!

What can I say, Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the All Girl Marching Band and RoadKings!!!
Can you imagine what that sounded like!!!![:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D]

CPRailer, I wonder where they’re going too… The image is dated 1997… the lead loco is still alive and in service as Ottawa Central 4815… The Ottawa Central started up around 1997-1998… My guess is this is the bunch Of RS-18’s that went to the OC…

Hey LoopnHook:
There are a batch of 425's in there as well. Did they go to the OC as well? Where is the OC's trackage?
Btw, here's that yard in map form...

Hey G,
I don’t know much about Canadian roads… My interest is the ALCO’s or what ever they call locos made by MLW... And yes, the OC has C424’s also…It’s an all ALCO road which makes it a good one wherever it is… I just happened by the image I posted while surfing… Saved it, from don’t know where, and now you posted the gaggle? with it in the lead…
And thanks for posting the yard map… It looks like a model layout plan, everything is so even… Now, if I had a million and a bunch more years to live………..

Hey LoopnHook:
See the upper right corner, Marked Finch Ave.?
Thats a realy large overpass with broad shoulders. It's a spectacular place to watch trains from!
I'll look into the OC maybe Cheez can help?
Here's the OCR:

Hey Gareth. I can see Ottawa Central trains from my house[:p] Don't know much about it though I'm afraid... I think the trains do fairly short runs, as when they go buy they usually consist of 1 or 2 OC engines, a CPR engine and usually between 2 and 20 cars. Need any pics? I can go wait by the track sometime and take pics of the trains[:D]

Nope. I have no clue where the tracks go.
-cheez
Edit: I checked a google map and followed the track that runs by my house for a little while. Looks like it runs through the Via station.

Very cool Loopnhook. I should go down to the tracks sometime and watch to see which engines go buy. It would make a nice video too. The train runs through this random field across the street from my house, and the track is really straight.

Eric, I'd get as many images of those old hogs as you can... How much longer will they be around? With build dates of 1957-58 the RS-18's are fifty years old and still in service... Proves how good Montreal builds stuff...

Well, I crouched in a ditch for about 15 mins, but I got 'em.

There they are. What do you think? Note: The engine leading this train is the same one in the pic Gareth posted.

Eric,
Geez, that was fast.... However, I can't see the images... Probably, something I'm doing wrong... again. I can see thr URL... Photobucket, chezfreak, etc but it wants a password.
Could you help me out? I'm drooling with anticipation so badly Madame Queen just put a bib on me![:P]

Hmm...that's strange. I logged out from my photobucket account, but I can still see them in my earlier post. I can't upload them directly to the forum cuz I had my camera set on a higher resolution. Maybe if I post the direct link to each photo.

It worked! Great stuff, Eric! The shot of 1815 is outstanding! And how lucky can you get? Catching 1815 on you first try…
You really should try for some more rail images… It will help you when you get to be my age and can’t remember… what color were the hand rails, brake wheel, lettering font, etc…
I’m very appreciative of your efforts! Thank you! And thanks Gareth for starting this fun thread with your gaggle (or is it a herd?) of Alcos…

ALCO'S FOREVER!
