I have had this old Tyco "Loew's Theather" kit for it seems like ever, and today, after I went to lunch with my fiance, I got bored. I had been staring at this kit in my closet every time I grab one of my work shirts, so, since I have been gone away from home for so long, I finally decided "what the heck" and sat down to assemble it.
It took me about 8 hours to build, but the relaxation was more than worth the evening spent building it. I wanted something to do to unwind as Alicia napped on and off for the day and so I put my little folding lap table in the middle of my tiny living room, assembled all of my modeling tools and several colors of acrylic paints, rounded up all of my glues, X-acto's and sprue cutters and files, and went to work.
I had only planned to spend a couple of hours working on it and then do something else productive, like laundry or unpacking, but, you know how it usually ends up....
For an old kit, I think these things are a joy to build all these years later. Don't ask me what the heck I'm going to do with it, I have no place for it on the current layout, but, I dunno. For now, it'll sit in my little curio cabinet.
I haven't added the marquee signs and movie posters, as I don't know where this building will end up. I was thinking of "Blazing Saddles" since it is my favorite movie, but that dates whatever layout I put it on (if I ever do) at 1974. My layout is 1962, so that is out. When and if I ever do, I'll add the marquee signs and posters, until then, it'll just sit in one of my display cabinets.

Very nice Tom! I have a few of those kits as well but have never put any together.
P.S.: I wish my old lady would let me smoke in the house. Sorta sux cause its going to be getting cold soon.

The Tyco Loew's kit is a really nice kit in my opinion.
It's one of those kits a guy could really detail if he choose. I'v done some decent detail on my Loew's and will ofcourse add more when the layout developes..
