I was sorting my boxcars, and found I had two SpaghettiOs boxcars by Life Like. I figured they should be with each other, but when I put them next to each other, I realized they used different molds. The one on the right (without doors) is old Varney tooling, I know that. Where is the other one from? Its roof walk is a separate piece, unlike the ex-Varney one. Why have I never seen this tooling before?

The ex-Varney one is also molded yellow, while the other is painted yellow. Just thought that was interesting.

I have a complete Life-Like Campbell’s set where the Chunky Soup car is from the Varney tooling and the SpaghettiOs car is the one with the separate roof walk. I had never seen that tooling before either. No clue about its history though.
