Got this from an eBay auction after WKS posted it. Lovely old piece, now have to build
a new Tyco layout for it!! I have something in mind. Replaced the old traction tires,
which were still intact, with some Calumets. I used to use Goodies Hair Bands, but
found they tended to go on twisted and wore out fairly quickly. My issue here is the Calumets
appear to swallow up the groove in the wheel not leaving much flange. Hope it works.
One of the mounting posts is damaged and I'm trying to reassemble the it with a little
Super Glue. The motor is going to be hard to get too, maybe I'll just blast it with a
little cleaner and hope for good luck. If all that fails, as it might, I'll have to wedge it
onto some other chassis that is more functional.

This is the track plan I have in mind, it will be wedge into the center of an oval on a 4 x 8

Nice engine! You should be able to service the motor without removing the truck. There are holes in the bottom of the truck to oil the motor shaft bearings, you just have to be careful not to get oil on the commutator.

Thanks for the tip! I'm anxious to damage the mounting posts by handling it more than absolutely necessary.

The mounting posts on those red box units are surprisingly robust. It takes a lot to damage them. Once they break it can be tricky (in my experience) to implement a solid fix. Let us know how the glue holds!
