Finally managed to find one of these... in a lot with some other cool stuff. It's not 100% mint but most of it is there:

I really like the overall look: the ladders and walkways are a nice touch. And of course it's bigger, so operations could be more interesting.

But the similarities between this and Tyco's version are striking. Especially the lifting mechanism... which almost seems identical.

So whose came first?

And finally - what goes into the slotted area next to the track? You could probably fit two more HO tracks there, but it's obviously pre-made for something else? Something wider? Like a specific kind of slot-car track (did they make slot-trucks?) The slot-car tracks I've seen have never been that low-profile.

I know Faller had an HO Road system back in the early 70s that included a number of trucks. I wonder if it had anything to do with that. I love my Tyco terminal so I can imagine you must be beaming...Good Find[;)]

I've got one of those I painted up and detailed that I'm not going to use. Doesn't look too bad. I didn't know I didn't know people looked for these.

I was probably just as tickled to find my truck terminal as I was my GG1. That Lima terminal looks really nice so I 'spect I'll be hunting down one of those...sigh...[:D]

Hey:

I also want to know what that lugged area is for. It ppears to be created to hold something? Nothing shows up in the directions! I just looked at mine I have two of these.
