A couple of years ago I found a lot of Bachmann locamotives some ran and some did not. This one had burned wires and motor plus a glue bombed shell so i added a shell from an old Life Like bicentenial F7, some wire and a 4 dollar motor from Ebay. It's still not finished it still needs some windows, horns and some led lights.

Not only is it a neat job of salvage, but with the additional details, it looks like the proverbial sow's ear is well on its way to being the silk purse. Carpe Manana!

Looking at what you have there, you have a good Bachmann drive. Those engines run smooth and well, even without a flywheel. Bachmann really upped their game in the 1990s. I have quite a few of their F units, and I like them alot. How well did the new motor fit? Was it an easy conversion?

The motors weren't perfect replacements but I managed to do 4 in one afternoon. They will not fit in my bad gp 40 untill I take it to work and mill the frame a little.Bill
