Greetings from this newbie. Now that I have a grandson who loves trains, I pulled out my old Tyco Silver Streak from when I was a kid and got her running. I'm now up to about 20 locomotives, purchasing new ones from eBay everyday (to my wife's displeasure) and working on a layout. That's my story in a nutshell..
Do have a question, hoping anyone can help. I purchased a Tyco Denver and Rio Grande locomotive that I got working great in reverse but runs very sluggish and slow in forward. Any ideas on what may need attention? Thank you!

Hello Andy. I am sure someone can help you out. My first thought is to turn the bogie around! My other thought is a blast of contact cleaner into the motor and some light lube on the gears.
We'd love a photo of what you did for your Grandson!

Welcome aboard Andy!
Regarding your locomotive issues, what type of Tyco Denver & Rio Grande locomotive is it? Steam or diesel? And when it is supposed to run forward, does it shutter/hesitate (indicating a loss of power) or struggle when trying to move forward (gear/rod issue on steam loco.)
Please upload photos and videos of your locomotive - it will be way easier to figure out the problem that way.

Thanks for your input BP. Good suggestion that l go ahead and do. I'm in the accumulation stage right now, haven't started my train table but moving forward, I'll post some pics of my progress.
Thanks Chops124, It's the Denver and Rio Grande steam locomotive. When I get around to figuring how to upload a pic I will..

Welcome to the Tyco Forum! I've had a handful of engines that ran better in reverse than forward. I've never really figured out how to solve it, but a light re-build is usually a good idea when buying an old engine. Lubricate the bearings, gears, etc., and clean the wheels.

The main thing in uploading is to change the pixelization to 1000. You got to shrink the original to fit. Also, make sure there is no symbols or punctuation like @#$@#$@# etc.
