At one time, the extension was a reversing loop, connected by a lift gate, no? You were having some trouble getting it to align on the vertical axis, did that get fixed? I rather like the use of the diamond to facilitate traffic. That is some major mileage. What do you use to clean track, and how well does it work?

Chops my lift gate always lined up very easily. This hinge gate is troublesome. The lift was much better. If it sticks on my cloths one more time and I tear up track again, I will enjoy wrecking it and putting either a lift or a drop in style gate in its place. I never made a drop in one yet. My son has on his layout two roll in layout pieces he uses to put together his layout track. He is happy with them. frank

That is a nice looking layout. I especially like that double track wye. You can move some serious traffic through that junction.
