Athearn, I picked this up for a dollar at a junk store. Little did the seller know I'd have paid ten times that amount.

I like the Tyco Shock Control boxcar. I think it was the color that sold it to me. I bought one probably in 2019.

I did something very similar to this. I imagine on the last day of PRR there were some freshly painted brown boxcars that a disgruntled painter decided to slap the worms on the next day rather than repainting a "brand new" car.
I'll give you $1.05 for it!

Marx and Me:
Long ago, when I was still at the younger end of teen-aged, I saw a vinegar car at Mid-Continent Railway Museum and was quite impressed with it. It occurred to me to make the wooden vinegar tank by gluing 1/16" square balsa strips around a piece of broom stick, using telephone wire as tie rods around the staves and adding ends, bracing and the hand rail. This went on a Marx tank car chassis in place of the usual steel tank.
Over the years, the wood contracted, making the tie rods loose, and I no longer model a vinegar plant on my layout, but I keep the car around for nostalgia's sake. A few days ago, I came upon an old article in RMC about modeling this same car, and was reminded of the primitive efforts of my youth.

Agreed, Walt, the Shock Control 50' box car is quite attractive.
Nice throwback, Shaggy. Looks great still.
