Back in the 80`s and early 90`s there used to be a department store in Pa and MD. called Gee Bee`s. They may have had them in other states too. Life-Like made a 40 foot boxcar for them that was red and had Gee Bees spelled out on it and I have been looking for one for years and cant find one. if any of you can help let me know maybe we can trade or maybe you want to sell it.!

ILB,
I just bought a SF Alco 630, in like-new condition, at a swap meet on Sunday. It had a Gee Bees price tag on the well worn brown box, #250-21, $8.99. I think the guy I bought it from was from Maryland.

Thats pretty neat! I never frequented Gee Bees much like other dept. stores but I do recall they had a nice train selection on the holidays! I picked up a 40ft, 4 bay Model Power hopper there when I was like 8 and still have it with the price tag on it! One of the things that chaps me the most is when you buy stuff off Ebay and people have taken the price tags off. The reasons being is because it peals some of the box off with it and leaves a sticky surfface and I also like to see where things were purchased and how much they were back in the day!

AND YES!! Im still looking for that box car if anyone can find one ! LOL!

Gawd, I remember GeeBee.
GeeBee stod for Glosser Brother's, a regional department store chain based in Johnstown Pa.
The '77 flood killed the flagship store in downdown J-town, the "discount" stores lasted into the early 90s.

As for the car, I see 'em every now and then at (of all things) yard sales around here, I'll keep my eyes open over the summer for ya!
