but it was so cheap!

so what if it comes with track, I can always use spare track, right?

RIGHT?

spent most of the day adding insulated joiners to set up blocks and tacking down track. then tearing up track because I didn't double check that the joiners were on BOTH rails properly

and I didnt get the block switch and turnout switches until later in the afternoon so it isn't wired up yet. have to do a lot of cleaning and lubing of engines

feel free to click on the pics for picking out all the bad details before you get too excited

so progress so far, I need to finish this so I can test engines and start fixing cars

this was an auction that looked appealing for parts and had zero bids, if you look in the above pic AND this pic, you see I almost have enough track for a helix....but I don't have room for it

cable reel and one of the operational virginia hoppers, but missing one door
yes that is a hooker car, I think someone here collects them?
another dummy engine, I think I might need to start finding motors and start making powered trucks

Why we call it the slippery slope! Nice haul, BTW.

Whatever you do, just DON'T think about what you can do with all that extra track...

Ah yes, the time comes when one finds yet another great train auction to bid on.

The way I see it though, many times I find auctions where I know that some of the stuff I won't be using I can easily turn around, re-sell, and make profit.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven." - Matthew 5:16

I done that too Robert. I didn't always make a profit but was able to get rid of the pieces I didn't need or want.
