Yep. Upon finding an offer I couldn't refuse, I obtained this lot of 3 Marx Union Pacific F3 diesels! Only 2 of them actually run, as the third was dummy-ized, and the one powered one has a warped plastic shell - probably from heat wherever it was stored previously.
I will keep the chassis with the warped shell, as the mechanism works perfectly fine - as I quest for another Marx F3 shell. The "dummy-ized" F3 features a shell missing the 2 rear stepladders, and being a Marx novice, I must ask - are they just broken off or did Marx even make a F3 shell without rear stepladders?
In the end, for the price I would have paid for just 1 Marx locomotive in good condition, I got 3, and the pristine one runs as good as it looks, with a strong pulling power which blows me away, considering the age of the locomotive. I just love the "cheesy" plastic look on these Marx F3's, and I'll be keeping my eye out for some more Marx F3's in the future.
