For my LOTW this week I am going to do a two for one special with the first two non-Tyco engines I purchased from 'The Site'.
To begin with, here's my shiny new Bachmann U36B. I've wanted this unit for some time, as it goes quite well with my Chrome Bachmann F9.
My second unit this week will be my newest addition, a Life-Like RS11. I've always liked the looks of these old Varney RS11s, and I managed to pick one up for a reasonable price.

My LOTW offering is this nice LifeLike Chessie System F7! Got it recently at a very good price, and all it needs is a little tune-up to get running well again.

OK, I've had this locomotive for over five years now, but only this week did I finally get around to upgrading it to DCC to run on my current layout...
A Walthers Trainline Dash 8-40BW diesel locomotive in the BNSF "Heritage II" colors! With BNSF being prominent on my layout, this is the first "Heritage II" paint-scheme loco I've run on it (as I do already have a couple of "Heritage IV" locomotives and a "Heritage I" loco and a couple of BNSF "Fakebonnet"s). Walthers began making this model around 1999 when the BNSF Railway first repainted one of their ex-Santa Fe Dash 8-40BWs in that scheme. I hardwired a TCS T1 decoder into the locomotive for operating on my layout.
Here it is heading my current main freight consist! My Dash-8 Fakebonnet with "BNSF" patched onto the sides is currently out of commission due to accidentally pulling out a pickup wire from one of the trucks (ugh!) so while I'm repairing that, I am using my other Fakebonnet (modified and upgraded by the previous owner before I bought it) as the second engine behind it.

that's awesome, chops. If I ever get one of those U Boats, it'll be PC. It looks like it means buisness, with it's simple paint job, and massive size.
