Just made a trip to a local hobby shop and found two tyco building kits in their original packages: the three houses under construction (no. 7766) an the barn and silo (no. 7770). So of course I bought them. The part I find interesting about them though, is that these buildings were made for the USA, Canada and probably Australia. The boxes say Tyco Canada on the bottom and have the french translations. This is something I would not have expected from Tyco.
One the bottom of one box it says imported by Tyco Canada. On the other it just says Tyco Canada. Each box has an address in Toronto on it. What's the story on this???

Tyco had a factory or warehouse center located at 43 Hanna Ave-TORONTO-ONTARIO in the 70's and possibly into early to mid 80's. The address is on several tyco boxes i have from the 70's--approx 1977. Be interesting to know what is at this address now and a picture to post at this site of then and now. Most or all of tyco kits were made by pola of germany so iT is possible the translations were printed in canada and packaged at Hannah Ave location.

| I just checked google maps to see if I could find Hanna Avenue. I found it and it's not a very big street. From what I can see in the satellite image, it looks like there are still some industrial buildings there, and possibly some warehouses. Hanna Ave. is pretty close to a couple of highways and some railroad tracks, so it seems like a logical place for Tyco to build a warehouse. Both of the tyco boxes I have, do have the street address on them but on one someone spelled avenue: hvenue. Looks like someone at the factory screwed up...
