So, I've had this LifeLike dummy Santa Fe F9 B-unit for as long as I can remember, and I always thought it was strange how 1 truck seemed to move inside the dummy frame, while the opposite end of the shell itself was slightly popped out. Never really investigated why until literally tonight.
Took a screw driver, pried out the metal frame, and unfortunately it cracked into pieces. :( Apparently, Zinc Pest corroded the metal frame on this dummy LifeLike F9B, which in itself is interesting as the frame isn't marked LifeLike, but "Made in Taiwan" is stamped on the underside of the fuel tank. LifeLike always produced in Hong Kong, though, didn't they?
Either way, unfortunately the frame is lost to history, but the trucks and the shell itself are still in decent shape.
This is my first real encounter with the danger of Zinc Pest. Ouch.

| It always sucks to find zinc pest. Sometimes one expanding part takes the rest of the model with it. Luckily your shell and trucks appear undamaged.

I had some luck with repairing a bogie that was in very bad shape by using JB Weld, off an old, old Walthers.

Yeah, I'm just glad the shell is still intact.
Maybe I'll try that, Chops.
