So excited to finally be installing catenary on the Alpine Railway! Although not prototypical, much like the layout itself, the "feel" is already being achieved as so far only the poles have been installed. Enjoy as N-Scale DB Class 120 electric locomotive leads a goods train on the outer line.

It's amazing how much a simple addition like line poles can add to the "feel". Looks good! What are you planning on doing for the wire?

Thanks! I plan on using some "craft wire" in the thinnest "gauge" possible, and black or silver in color. I'm not going to even try to model prototypical catenary wire as it just boggles my mind. But I will definitely go for the best look.

Nice! Ya, working overhead wire is a pain. I've never tried catenary. I assume catenary is trickier to build than trolley wire, probably less finicky to run through.

Yeah....and the fact that there are different styles of catenary depending on country, and down to individual railroad. I've seen that the Pennsy had a distinctive type of catenary, and some geniuses model that on their layouts, which is completely beyond me.
