Working on my trolley bus set. The overhead rails have to be 1/2 inch apart. Little by little
I am working them in, section at a time. Like tuning a turnbuckle, or a spoke, you apply a
little pressure here, it warps over there. So it is of great benefit to have the baseboard
totally accessible during this installation process.

Another change I am making is to move all the masts to the interior of the lap. On the
first attempt, the bus would collide with the mast when it was on the outside. It is not
specified where to arrange the masts, but on the murky B & W product photos, all the
masts are inside the loop.

To prevent cracking to the bases, all the screw holes are drilled out and the base holes
reamed out.

'm so happy, doin' the Neutron Dance! Major thanks to DaCheez who got me to
intuit my way through this. Built the baseboard around the bus instead of the bus around the
layout. What helped was a $7 pair of metal snips that allowed me to adjust the length of the
rail as it was laid out, particularly around the corners. Putting the masts on the INSIDE
track was essential. Note: there are these little shims that protude up from the rail joiners.
Once one is satisfied that the rail and the bus agree together, then a regular pair of pliers
may be used to apply a vertical clamping action to force the shims tight up against the rail,
preventing it from wandering. Next, I am going to scenic this up and one more test, then
install it onto Armodilloville.

Thanx Blax, and I am looking for the next installment of Blaxland. What are
you going to call your site/series? I am still gaga over your early attempts
and Modern Engines work.

See Loose Ends for one of my favorite model RR story boards...

Chase, the Malamute, stares at me as I scenic Armadilloville West. He will be getting a summer
shave soon, as he is bred for Artic climes and sleds.

Having a seperate baseboard helps to get into corners otherwise missed. Using flat black paint
on plywood for road. I've come this far, no sense goofing it up by being to clever. It works, it
works. Found a vintage Life Life Scenic Kit, and while the sawdust is fading and the lichen turned
to toast, I am working with it for a vintage feel.

The lamps came in a bundle off eBay that is still providing little treasures. I am going to
wire them in series and tap them into the main DC feed for the bus, which draws about
5 to 6 volts, which will not overtax the grain of wheat bulbs. I hope.

Wow!!! Looking better and better! Chase seems to be enjoying the action!

Some clump foliage along the sides of the "Road" will make it really stand out.

I can't wait to see it finished!

So, are you going to like, cut out a square big enough for this section in armadilloville, and then drop and fasten it in, or something else?

Still at it, didn't get as much done as I had hoped, have to hit the hay as I work graves
tonight. Note shrubbery around road, Blax . The clearances are very tight, so have to
plant a little, run a little to make sure the bus fits.

Yes, that is exactly what I've got planned. I pulled up the US 1 and will slide this baseboard
into the gap. Jeepers, I hope I measured right!!

I want three...really nice speciments, Mike. Couple of people have asked where the Trolley Bus will
go, or not go, and it is going to slide into this vacant lot which once held the US loop. Building it
like this added many degrees of success that I was not getting.

The new baseboard will fillthe old baseboard and the twin peeks may be move to axxomodte Twin Peask...

How are you going to cut out that section and fasten the new section in? I'm assuming you'll need to take lot's of measurements to get it perfect! Hope all goes well!

I can't cut, nor draw, a crooked line. The bus base board will be laid
down upon this, and likely the edges blended in.

Oh, ok. That calls for LOTS of clump foliage around the edges then!

I love clump foliage.

Then I’d have this square thing staring back at me.
As much as possible the edges will be blended in.

Nice equipment Jeff and Mike and Frank. Very colorful. Cute dog Jeff. Hope he and your cat get along well.

Cute set I saw at the Pine Creek Railroad on Tuesday. Not my collection.
Only my photo of the set. It replicates the museum train when it operates.

That's looking awesome Chops! I'm impressed with how smooth the bus runs. The scenery looks great as well! There is a LifeLike box of scenery just like that in my display cabinet downstairs. While it does contain some scenery 'stuff', I doubt it will ever be used. I look forward to a video of the bus section installed on the layout!
