My LOTW is a custom painted Rivarossi Heisler from the 1970's or 1980's. The detail on this thing is incredible for an engine from this time period, and it runs quite nicely. The most impressive thing about the model, though, is the mechanism. It has an extremely complex mechanism which seems to at the very least help move the locomotive. In the pictures below, you'll see it. I wish I could describe it better, but I'm not exactly well read on my terminology for logging locomotives like that. I got this guy at a train show a few years ago for only $60. All I had to do to get it running fairly nicely was cleaning the wheels a bit and a little bit of lubrication. This thing is really sweet to watch as it runs.

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

These loggers definitely some of the most interesting contraptions out there. I believe they could negotiate 9% grades, as well. Sort of like the Jeep of locomotion.

I actually came across an ebayer recently that obviously didnt know the value of any of their items. They had all sorts of good stuff, most wrecked by paint though. I made a few offers, but they didnt reply. They had a Riv hiesler for $75 with best offer. I offered $50 but they did not reply. $5 shipping, sold the next day, along with pretty much everything else!
Anyway, heres my LOTW, my new rivarossi docksider. His name is "Dinky" in my series, and he was a character created by one of my old friends. He is seen on my temporary Carpet Central RR with the Big thunder railgun I detailed. I also detailed Dinky.
