I picked up a pair of Kadee 516 trucks with couplers attached. The bolsters on the frame of the car are a tad too short so the truck screws cannot be tightened without interfering with the truck. Does anyone know if the other Kadee trucks with couplers would work? (502,503,510,512). Are there any other options? I love how the Kadee ‘s look and roll and I have no desire to go the body mount route. Thanks.

You could add shim washers between the truck and the car body. You could also use a shorter screw, or drill a pilot hole into the car floor so any length of screw could be used.
Just out of curiosity, why do you not want to body mount the couplers? Cars operate much better with them, and it's quite a simple task to install them.
