i was an active forum member for some time Had a large H O layout in basement. Was fortunate to live in a town where there was a store that delt with mainly used Mostly HO some N and Lionel.. I was spoiled Could get box cars, tankers Tyco for $4.00 Deisel $25.. Houses and barns animals and people--- cheap. Only thing new on my table was track, cork some switches and spme figures
Loved making scenry using natural plants and anything to the imagination. Spent hrs just making grass and weeds on roadsides. running trains not so much as always jumping the tracks no matter what i did.
Moved to Charlotte NC and like a dumb the other dark meat left it in the basement thinking no basement in new house Didnt think about the 4th bedroom Didnt think to sell abck to used train guy Yep kick myself many times As it was Charlotte had a couple of hobby shops but little train and no used Al R C cars and planes
Now here in Vero Beach No basement Boiling hot himid garage where my good tools sit and rust A Lanai that i could enclose for $20000 and use as a train room For 5000 could AC the garage Id give anything to start up again Nearest Hobby shop 30 mins some used Even thought of hanging a 4x8 on pulleys in office and get into N gage I could call the used guy in MI tell him waht i wanted and send him a check Super honest man Yhanks for listening

Yeah, post pics. I was just at Nick's Trains last weekend. Must be the same place you refer. Very excellent, last of its kind.
PLEASE DO POST SOME PICS!!
This is a new opportunity to start with a new theme. I've been experimenting with micro layouts (3x3 or less) and find they can be quite fun.
Also, you being in the heart of Florida, there should be a lot of shows with bargain prices around. Also, micro layouts are extremely easy to fit into the back of a small hatch back, and it is fun to go to these shows and show off your trains, find bargains. I met a guy at a train show 25 years ago, and to this day we are the best of friends.

This is a photo from a model train show back in 1999, with my wife and then infant daughter. It was made on a folding table I rescued from the trash, and unfolded into about a 4 x 3.

The trolley layout is a 2 x 4, veteran of many shows. Fits easily into the back of my hatch back. Built while living in an apartment in Corpus Christi.
