Here's my LOTW offering:

Tyco Spirit of '76 F7A....with PERFECT decals. Got this on Ebay a month or so ago for 20 bucks. Will need horn and coupler replacement, and some cleaning, but otherwise it's awesome.

Excellent addition to the Retro Fleet. I don't recall knowing that
Tyco made a '76 F unit, either. Is that a PT or MU motor?

Here's the Penn Central, as suggested by Micro Busss,
in action, blowing through El Paso.

It is the later-version of the MU-style motor.

Looking at the motor, it's a huge upgrade over most anything Tyco offered before.

Doesn't look Tyco; is this maybe a Playart model? We might need an underside shot of these to see any telltale signs. Usually Tyco's RI fleet consists of Sharks (or in the very last batch, an F-unit) rather than an Alco. Nice to see that the caboose has roller bearings!

I believe it’s a mehano or IHC model Tyco sourced for their train sets in their final years.

I bet IHC since they took over the line in 1991
& the building prices doubled overnight
but in the ads boy was the leftover Tycos going CHEAP!!

Nice, Mike! Thanks for the history Kristofer. Good to have
some insight on this; I never knew about the IHC-Tyco
connection!

Whoa, RBD. Overall, I've been fairly impressed with
performance of RBD on short consists, the stored
tension in the bands has an almost fly wheel
like effect for a smooth ride. But that has only
been on an RDC and a 'Hustler.' I wonder what
the pulling characteristics of this piece is?
Is it fairly limited? The bands do slip. Man,
I hate how they dry and crumble so fast.
It requires truck disassembly on the RDC
to switch them out- a tedious chore I could
live without!
