Got a lot to do on my one day off, so just going to post some archival stuff. Custom painted Athearn FA unit, nice runner.

Beautiful locos. Rode behind an FP40H from Springfield, MA to LA, CA back around '85.

My LOTW is "The Black Shark." I used to see Tyco catalogs, as a kid, and think the sharknose diesel looked pretty slick, but it was not practical at the time for me to buy one. Much later, I found a ROCO shark at a swap meet, reasonably cheap. It needed some work. There was no glazing in the windshield. The headlight was just a hole and the fuel tank was missing. With a little attention, all that was corrected.
So why call it by the ominous name? There used to be a radio drama called, "Jack Armstrong, the all American Boy." Jack had an uncle, Jim Fairfield who had a sailing ship named the Spindrift and had adventures all over the world. In one episode the villain was the evil Dr. Shupato and he had a diesel boat named The Black Shark.
Dr. Shupato's Black Shark tore out its bottom on a reef, but this Black Shark occasionally comes in handy pulling a manifest freight.

My LOTW is this 1776 F7, with the plastic MU-2 drive. This is my favorite TYCO engine.

I know RP will be salivating over those Sharks. Reminds me of Alco's failed entry into the diesel market: "The Black Maria." Using surplus WWII submarine engines, they had spectacular failures during their demonstration runs.
