I will neither confirm nor deny that you can hear me talking to UP4014's crew in this video.

I also got a bunch of still pictures while 4014 was in Butler Yard in Milwaukee Wisconsin....

I was also able to get some pictures of 4014 up close and personal at West Chicago...

And here is a still shot that I took while shooting the video...

This locomotive is definitely worth going out of your way to see!!!!

That is the Head End Power car, it contains an electric generator that provides power to the passenger cars coupled to it. Locomotives that are designed to pull modern passenger trains are equipped with Head End Power equipment, but the Big Boy and the diesel helper unit aren't so equipped.

yeah! its going up the Yoder Sub that goes to Yoder, Wyoming to Gering, NE which is exactly 4 miles south of me
see why I don't have a fave railroad?
UP goes thru there & BNSF goes thru my town of Scottsbluff hehe
Gering is older tho but in 1900 when the Burlington & Missouri came thru a big depopulation happened
they didn't get UP until 1910

oh um I did see the Big Boy in the Steam Shop on May 20th
