I had been thinking for months of a battery operated slot car track cleaner. My slot car track is fairly large and some of it is just hard to reach. I just happened to find this one last night!

Very useful video, Walt. So, just by burnishing the rails with a heavy
truck the rail is cleaned up- no solvents, no rags, etc. Now what is
curious to me is the reference to the "original weight" from the back
of a Tyco US1 that he pasted on the front end. None of my US1
stuff has weight in it, and having added a few grams, they run
so much better.

Question: did US1 incorporate an additional chassis weight??

I have never had any US-1 trucks so I really know nothing about them... But I believe I will get one to make this cleaner out of. Track rails will shine themselves with the slot cars rubbing over them IF you could keep the slot cars running over the hazed track. That's where the battery comes in...

I did find this sold ebay auction with a photo of the dump truck chassis. Does look to have a weight on one end of it...

That easy-to-make slot track cleaner is definitely awesome! I saw a similar one sell on Ebay, battery and all, for over $20-$30, a couple months ago. That dump truck, however, was fancier with a switch on the cab-roof.

Yes, all Tyco US1 dump trucks have that extra weight, it just is not visible under the bed....

I want to get one of the dump trucks to do this with... I had been thinking for quite a while of what battery operated toy that I could modify to do the cleaning... I was thinking of adding a rail cleaning block to it, but now think I would rather the truck to naturally clean the rails... Here is what I have been using, but takes me a long time plus a long 4 way straight right up the middle of the table...
