Hi Guys:
Time for us all to do some Show`n Tell:
This weeks Loco from me is:
A Hobbytown All metal Alco RS-3 This thing weighs about two pounds and has an "O" scale DC-91 motor which will pull about 100 cars on the flat!

To answer GIC's question, here is a photo of a Hobbytown Chassis with a Pittman DC-91 motor. In this case it's an EMD F-7 chassis:

At this point this is hands down my favourite HO scale locomotive!
I actually have three of these PLUS an RSD-4/5 12 wheel drive version. Below is my actual RSD-4/5

Here's some shots of the slightly later version in their seperate boxes:

If you hook one to a wall and put it on the track and turn it on and come back in the morning it will wear brass rails through to the ties and still be purring along!

Wow... 2 pounds, 100 cars? I may have to look around for one o' dems! Looks pretty nicely detailed from what I can tell. But how does an O scale motor fit in there?

This started out as a Bachmann F9. I added some extra details, repainted it and put a modified Model Power dual drive chassis under it.
The photo was taken in my back yard on top of an old trash can covered with dirt.
These are a couple of photos of the drive.

Sometimes my residents leave me things to keep or dispose of for myself. Once a guy left me two Carl Goldberg Eagle 63 R/C aircraft kits. Another left me a box of Tyco and Life-Like in near mint condition. This was one of the locos in the lot, a LL F40PH in MBTA colors.

Well while I have several favorite locomotives I still favor this old gal.

Its a custom painted Athearn GP7 with a stock Athearn drive.[:D]
Tony,My dad use the Pitman DC91 in the majority of his Penn Line and Hobbytown locomotives.. Your Alco looks very nice.

Man thosew are some really fine crossing you have done up...thats an important detail on a layout thats over looked lots of times. I bet those are the nicest ones i`ve seen. I`ve tried building some but it never works...the flanges of the wheels always seem to catch.

G,I use long hood forward on my Huron River Ry.My C&HV uses short low hood forward....On my other locomotives I follow the prototypes locomotive operation...R.J.Corman favors short hood forward but, will operate his geep 9s in either direction.

gosh, I lost my rivot counting spec's...
Shaygetz, I would like to add to the compliments on your crossing. Verddddy nIIIIIce, sir! ah, there're my spec's... a nice highway dept. truck inspecting the crossing... uh, the driver's on lunch break somewhere? (just noticing no drivers in the cab...) wait, maybe it's the heet I'm suffrin' from...
Romcat, I admire loco's that are heavy and can putt lotta cars! Uh, how much voltage (or amps) does that Pitman motor draw?
Y'all doin' and lookin' good.
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
