Hours later in Staten Island with another new set running.







In one of the new Staten Island Railway sets.







Riding in one of the older sets still running in Staten Island. Those cars are fifty years old.

That is a very nice photo essay. For those of you who don't know,
WKS is one of the only person I know who is entirely
automobile-free. This remarkable fellow travels all over
New England by rail, bus, and even foot.

I used to work for NYC Transit from 2004 - 2007. I worked in the Electrical Engineering Dept.
We worked on 3rd rail, Tunnel Lighting and Substations. I got to watch the South Street Ferry station being rebuilt. I also saw some monster rats in the station/tunnels. They were bigger than large cats....
