Figured out the wiring, which was actually less hard than I thought it would be; it turned out to be a paint-by-numbers sort of assembly, phew! Then I picked it up, set it aside, and in doing so the wires found ways to tangle themselves as loose ends always do. Must be some wierd sort of electromagnetic attraction: put loose wires in any given container, and I can almost guarantee they will be tangled when you open the box again.
So, may have to undo everything and reset it. The purpose of all this electronic gadgetry is for the subway set to travel to one end, slow, stop, reverse, travel to a station stop, slow, stop, proceed, and then repeat the process at the opposite end.

Yikes...looks like a nightmare. But, I do hope it works, because that will look really awesome, and function prototypically.

Yikes, I seemed to have mislocated one wire, had to take it all down and start over. Going blind trying to line up the wires to the right terminals. Not much harder, really, than attaching two wires to a Tyco transformer, it's just there are so many of them and it is easy to get the wrong terminal after three double checks. Colored wire would help, but don't have eight colors on hand. If I end up doing this a third time, I will use colored wire regardless of cost.

Now it works even worse, having rewired it top to bottom.

Unfortunately Chops, I would be of no assistance. My skills with wiring go about as far as powering a power-pack.
