Spoiler Alert: This pair of AHM New York Central RR "Cigar Band" style C-Liners will soon be added to the locomotive roster of the Ephrata Valley Railroad.

However, in searching on Google, I've been unable to locate any photos of NYC C-Liners in the Cigar Band livery...despite various manufacturers beside AHM (such as Proto) making models of these.

So, out of curiosity, did NYC truly paint their C-Liners in the Cigar Band style, and if so, does anyone have a photo?

Thanks!

-RP

Nvm, I actually found my answer by flipping through the "Modern Diesel Locomotives" pictorial book....

But I'd love to see any other photos of these.

Somebody should create a pictorial of just New York Central C-Liners, or perhaps all NYC Fairbanks Morse locos.

Did you notice that the prototype locomotive in the picture has the same number (6603) as your model?

WHOA! I did not see that, Srenchin, until now. Thanks so much for pointing that out - COOL!

There are photos of them painted this way in the book NEW York Central DIesel Locomotives by W D Edson. I believe the author worked as an NYC official in charge of motive power. If you like NYC diesels, this book will tell you everything you wanted to know. There are even colour photos of several experimental paint schemes, including one with gold lettering, and one painted in the cigar band scheme, but with a jade green body.
